From February 8 to 10, the first edition of the Indie Garden Assembly showcased 15 outstanding games selected for its international indiegames competition. Besides the great and inspiring talks and panels of the conference, the festival awarded 4 games this year. We are really happy to announce the winners.
Many thanks to our Jury this year: Martyna “Outstar” Zych, Aurélien Nicoleau (Piwag), and Douglas Alves (history and culture professor)! They gave a lot of precious feedback to the developers while testing their games, and took two days to look into each one of them before choosing the “Best Game of the Show”, and the “Most Innovative Game”.
– The soothing and minimaltic puzzle game oQo won the BEST GAME OF THE SHOW Award. The team will be invited to take part of the Indie Garden booth this year at Gamescom. The growing of oQo only begins now!
– Starting with the MOST INNOVATIVE GAME Award, the YouFight team will fly to London in May 2018 to compete for the Indie Prize London contest. YouFight will be supported by the Indie Garden Assembly!
Two additional awards were given upon the votes of the attendees. Separated votes from the professionnals and from the public were organized to gather the feeling of the audience:
– vridniX, the shifting and colorful platformer of Uncanaut studio was the most plebiscited by the professionnals and won the INDUSTRY’S CHOICE Award.
– The AUDIENCE’s CHOICE Award was given on saturday and the visitors chose the futuristic racing game Antigraviator as their favorite.
It was a great pleasure to host this unique show with our partners Serre Numérique and Valenciennes Metropole. Thanks to all attendees of the conference and congratulations to all the teams for the quality of the games. We sincerely hope you had a great time at the Indie Garden Assembly.
